Silvano d’Orba is located in the heart of the region where Ovada DOCG and Dolcetto d’Ovada DOC are produced.
These two tannin-rich, full-bodied, dry, red wines are made using Dolcetto grapes, one of the most important local varieties in the Piedmont region.
The Gualco family have always thought highly of the Dolcetto grape pomace produced in and around the surrounding hills. Arriving at the distillery freshly pressed, it is an ideal raw material for distillation using a Piedmontese bain-marie pot still.
