"Distilleria Gualco are delighted to announce that they have won a Silver Outstanding award in the 2014International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC) for Superla® .
Founded in 1969, the IWSC is considered to be the most prestigious competition of its kind in the world, and this year is celebrating its 45th anniversary.
The awards given by the competition are believed to be among some of the highest honours in the industry.Judging for the Competition is unique in that it has two stages; first, the products are tasted blind by expert panels, selected from over 300 fully experienced and qualified industry judges. Then, products which receive the top medals are subject to technical analysis before results are released; this crucial stage ensures winners receive complete validation.
We are very proud that our great great uncle Bartolomeo Gualco’s secret recipe from the 1930s , Superla® , our most historical trademark got recognized in a very important award. Superla is a liqueur made from grappa and a blend of 12 digestive herbs, roots and berries, a flavoured grappa that we consider one of the best legacy that Susanna and Bartholomew have left us.
